ADVERTISING

Advertising is the activity of telling people about products, events or job vacancies, and making people want to buy the products go to   the events or apply for the jobs.  Advertising effects people’s life both positive and negative ways.

Firstly, I want to mention about positive effects of advertising. I seperate them three parts: economic benefits, cultural and social benefits, moral and religious benefits.  Unemployment is a problem that advertising helps in solving. Advertising increases sales and profits.  Advertising can also  contribute to the betterment of society by uplifting and inspiring people and motivating them to act in ways that benefits themselves and others.  Social and religious institutions use advertising for communicating their mesasages, like messages of patriotism, faith, compassion tolerance and charity toward needy, messages related to health and education. These educate people and guide better behaviour.

Secondly, I mention about negative effects of advertising. I divide into two parts: negative effcets of advertising on children and adolescent, social discrimination.  Research has shown that young children—younger than 8 years—are cognitively and psychologically defenseless against advertising. They do not understand the notion of intent to sell and frequently accept advertising claims at face value.  Those consumers given a false impression about a product through various forms of media are the ones who suffer most from our society's portrayal of the perfect body. After being influenced by a television commercial or a magazine pictorial, certain people in this world will purchase an item hoping that the same success shown in the medium will be had by them as well. The truth of the matter is that this hardly ever happens. 

In coclusion, I can say that advertising truly has become integrated with daily life with positive and negative aspects.
